Dear Teachers,
Here is the latest news and “buzz” in ELT. Find selected posts below from our directory.
Please let other know about our valuable newsletters, it’s great when teachers keep their windows open, metaphorically speaking …
My reading tip this week is a rather quizzical one. An old post from 2010, about remixing, copyright and more … from the very influential, Michicho Kakutani and the NYTs. We must remind ourselves that knowledge isn’t private property, something to be roped off. Back then, there was an effort to open up content and the web. The fight goes on. See my own efforts with teachers towards this … in this classroom created video, one result of my training of teachers and continual promotion to take existing content and bring it alive in classrooms. Quite the co-incidence I’m now back in Korea and close / near the scene of this crime (and yes, there have been so many calls, attempts and efforts to take this video down).
Best,
David - ELT Buzzer-in-Chief
