The ELT Buzz Digest - August 25th
All the "buzz" in English language teaching

Dear Subscribers,
Enjoy this week’s digest below! My reading tip this week is a hard hitting, powerful piece of journalism by Jeffrey Yu - The Assembly Line In The Sky. So few really understand the amount of “lipstick” that is on the pig that is Ai. I do. I worked endless hours for a decade, I know how much we paid for “mechanical turks”. The front end that you see of Ai comes at a large cost of human despair, pain, precarity and even death. Please read. Ask yourself, is this what you want to the world to become? Myself to become? Jeffrey mentions Karen’s fine book but fails to mention the military involvement/investment in the growth of “Ai” and how the genocide in Gaza is nothing but a computational solution. Ugh.
